When you install a DCL 24V ON-OFF type electric control valve on a pipeline, you can control it using a relay, ON-OFF control, or PLC (DCS), enabling the opening or shutting off of fluid flow.
This guide explains how the DCL 24V ON-OFF type electric actuators function using relays, PLCs, or ON-OFF control for valve operation.
Using Relay/PLC/DCS to Control DCL Actuators
When the relay switches the power (+) line to the “ON” input terminal and the power (-) line to the “OFF” input terminal, the actuator drives the valve open. Once fully open, the actuator stops, and the electric valve remains open.
When the relay switches the power (+) line to the “OFF” input terminal and the power (-) line to the “ON” input terminal, the actuator drives the valve closed. Once fully closed, the actuator stops, and the electric valve remains closed.
If power is lost while the actuator is in operation, the actuator stops driving, and the electric valve stays in its current position.
If your actuator is equipped with a heater and dehumidifier, keep the power supply on after the actuator reaches the fully open or fully closed position.
Remarque : The circuit diagram provided illustrates the basic function of an ON-OFF type actuator (electric valve). In practical applications, fuses, current limiters, and other protective components should be added.
